Biscuit Brothers!

I met two of my favorite famous people today! Abba and I were going to take a walk this afternoon and as we stepped out of the rabbi's house we saw Buford from the Biscuit Brothers next door! He is the rabbi's neighbor, but I have never seen him there before. He was unloading his car with his friend, and I was flabbergasted! We walked over to say hello, and he let me give him a big hug. The rebbetzin and Imah came outside, too, and we talked with Buford for a few minutes.

Then, he asked me if I knew anyone else from the show, and he said that Tiny Scarecrow was in the car! His friend Damon went over to the car and came back with Tiny Scarecrow and we got to hug and talk with him too!

Then, just before we said goodbye, Buford went inside his house and came back out with a CD for me! He said that they just released it today, and that it was mine to keep! I can't wait until tomorrow when I will be able to listen to it with Imah. Maybe I will get to see Buford again sometime, especially since we will be living just around the corner in a little while.

I'd better sneak off to bed again before Abba catches me posting this late. Laila tov!

I can talk!

Ok, I've been saying words for a while now, so this may not seem impressive to you... but you know how my Abba and Imah say lots of words together? Well, I finally did it! One of my favorite books is called I Am a Baby. That's also the sentence on the first and last pages, and I looove to have Imah read it to me at bedtime. About 2 weeks ago I picked up the book and said, "Ai... eh... a BABY!" Well, it may not sound just the way Imah says it, but she sure knew what I was trying to say! And boy was she impressed! I say it a lot now, I like the way she smiles when I do. :) I think Imah and Abba are hoping for a new sentence soon, but I'm biding my time. I mean, how do you follow up "I am a baby," as a baby's first sentence? Am I good or what? We'll see. I'm sure inspiration will strike soon....

New Pictures!

Abba has put together a new picture album for me and posted it in my photos section. I have been asking him to do this for a while, but he has been very busy. These photos were all taken since my last birthday, and I am sure that he will add more to this Year 2 album before I turn two in October. He also made it possible for you to download the large, original images if you like. All you have to do is click on a photo in the album and save the photo that downloads to your computer. Enjoy!

Vocabulary List

Abba has helped me put together a list of the words that I use, whether in sign language or actually talking. He told me that he will keep the list updated as I learn new words. He also put a link to the Vocabulary list at the top of every page here on my website so that you can get to it easily. Enjoy!

Hypnobirthing Reunion Photos

Abba and Imah took me to a great party on Sunday. They got together with a bunch of people who took the same birth preparation classes that they did, and I got to tag along. The cool thing was that there were TONS of babies there! I love babies! My baby doll is one of my favoritest toys, but these babies were real! Abba brought along my baby doll and her stroller, and all of the other kids wanted to play with her. I was happy to share with them, especially since I got to play with a three or four different bouncy balls. =)

Abba helped me put up the pictures he took at the party in my photos section. There are some great pictures of me and my friends, and even some of the doggie that was there!

Pesach Play Set

Abba and Imah bought me new toys for Passover! First, I got a great wooden play set that includes all of the same things that they had on the seder table. I also got two books for the chag. One is my very own Pesach Haggadah, and the other is A Touch of Passover: A Touch and Feel Board Book. I really enjoyed playing with my new toys during the seder, and since I was sitting next to Abba and Imah, I was able to do the same things with my seder set that they were doing with theirs!

Maybe I'll get a Torah on Shavuot!

Chaya see, Chaya do

A while back Abba got me a great wooden Shabbat set on a trip to LA. Imah's trying to keep me occupied while she plans for Pesach, and this is my favorite toy right now. I like to hold up the bread like when Abba says the blessing, but mostly I love pouring the wine into the cup and drinking it, over and over, just like Abba and Imah. Well, maybe they don't do it over and over as much as I do, but they certainly should! Pouring rocks! Imah asked me if the wine was yummy, and that reminded me of how I usually get my wine on Shabbat. So I put my finger in the cup, and then into my mouth, just to show her I know how things are really supposed to be done. She sure got a kick out of that! Then I noticed how much the bread knife looks like one of Abba's tools, so at present I've spent almost 10 minutes trying to figure out how to take apart Imah's computer chair with it. Yes, the one she's sitting in right now. No, I do not have repressed hostility towards the woman who only gives me a drop of wine on her fingertip and won't let me do any of the cool pouring just because I'm a baby... none at all. Dagnabbed knife isn't working. I wonder if the wine bottle will do it...

My First Post

Shalom! My name is Chaya Tallent, and this is my web site. I will be creating entries on my blog from time to time, telling you what I am up to and what is new in my life. Abba and Imah will be helping me out for a while, but as soon as I can type with more accuracy than a monkey I'm sure I'll be making my own contributions. Take a look at my photo albums and videos using the links above. If you are a friend or family and would like me to add a link to your site here, please send my Abba a message. Enjoy my site!
